CyberTex Institute of Technology (“CyberTex,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting
the personal information you share with us. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and
the choices available to you when you visit our website or apply to our programs.
CyberTex is based in Texas, and this policy is written with Texas and U.S. federal law in mind, including the Family
Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA). If you are contacting
us from outside the United States, please note that our services are directed to individuals located in the United States.

Information We Collect

• Browsing Information: We use tools such as Google Analytics to understand website usage trends, including IP
address and pages visited. This information is anonymized or aggregated where possible and helps us improve the
site.
• Voluntarily Provided Information: When you register, request information, or apply for a program, you may provide
personal details such as your name, address, email address, phone number, and academic background. We use this
information to respond to your inquiry and process your application.
• Device Information: Your browser automatically shares information such as browser type and operating system,
which helps us optimize the site for different devices.
• Inquiries From Prospective Students: Some individuals who request information about our programs are high school
students who have not yet reached the age of majority. We do not knowingly collect personal information from
children under 13. If you are a prospective student under 18, we encourage you to involve a parent or guardian when
submitting an inquiry, and a parent or guardian may contact us at any time to review, correct, or delete that
information on the student’s behalf.

How We Use Your Personal Information

We use your information to:
• Respond to inquiries and requests you submit to us.
• Process program applications and registrations.
• Send you relevant program information and updates.
• Analyze website usage to improve your experience on our site.
• Comply with legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

How We Share Your Information

We share personal information with a third-party marketing vendor that helps us communicate with prospective students
about our programs (for example, email or advertising campaigns). This vendor is authorized to use your information only to
provide services on our behalf and is not permitted to sell your information or use it for its own independent purposes.

We may also share limited, non-identifying data with partners for website improvement or research purposes. We may
disclose information when required by law, to comply with accreditation or regulatory obligations, or to protect the rights,
safety, and property of CyberTex and others.

directly.
• Request access to, a correction of, or deletion of your personal information.
• Control cookie settings through your browser (see Cookies section below).

Cookies

When you access our website, a “cookie” or similar file may be stored on your device. Cookies help us recognize returning
visitors, understand how the site is used (such as pages viewed and time spent on the site), and improve the site’s
functionality.
We retain cookie data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, generally no longer than 26
months from the date of collection, consistent with the default retention settings of our analytics providers. You can disable
or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time, though some site features may not function properly without
them.

Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including secure servers and
encryption for sensitive data. Access to personal information is limited to personnel and vendors who need it to perform their
job functions, and our vendors are contractually required to protect your information. However, no method of online
transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected individuals and applicable regulators
as required by law.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including to meet
institutional accreditation, legal, and regulatory requirements. In general, we retain student and applicant records for up to 10
years from the date of last contact, after which the information is securely deleted or de-identified, unless a longer retention
period is required by law.

Students’ Rights Under FERPA

If you enroll at CyberTex, your education records are protected under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act
(FERPA). FERPA gives eligible students the right to:
• Inspect and review their education records.
• Request correction of records they believe are inaccurate or misleading.

• Consent to disclosures of personally identifiable information from education records, except where FERPA
authorizes disclosure without consent (for example, to school officials with a legitimate educational interest, or as
required by law).
Questions about FERPA rights or a specific education record should be directed to our registrar’s office using the contact
information below.

Consent

By using the CyberTex website and submitting an inquiry or application, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of
your personal information as described in this policy. You are not required to consent to non-essential data collection to use
basic website functionality, but certain features (such as program applications) may require you to provide specific
information to proceed.

Our website may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites,
and we encourage you to review their policies before providing any personal information.

CyberTex reserves the right to change our policy anytime.
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. We will post the revised
policy on this page with an updated effective date. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of this page for a
