Before you become a licensed HVAC technician, you will work with an experienced HVAC tech to gain industry knowledge and hands-on experience. After completing 3 to 4 years as an apprentice, you are eligible to take the licensure exam. Passing this exam awards you the Journeyman HVAC technician moniker. As a journeyman, you can lead apprentices and guide them to be better HVAC technicians. It’s a rewarding experience helping someone achieve a career they are passionate about.
