Are you interested in becoming an HVACR technician and want to know the best courses to take? The good news is that you have come to the right place. However, first, let’s define HVACR, and then we will review the courses you will take at CyberTex in the HVAC Technician Program.

What is HVACR?

HVACR stands for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration. Each element within the overall umbrella of HVACR is as follows:

Heating

The heater uses gas or electricity to warm the air, entering a structure to create a comfortable temperature. A smart thermostat can be used to automate the temperature within a residence or commercial building.

Ventilation

Ventilation helps improve air quality. HVAC technicians ensure that all structures are adequately ventilated and that the ventilation filters out contaminants. Most ductwork is made of sheet metal that must be welded, cut, and brazed. These are all things you will learn during the HVAC technician program at CyberTex.

Air Conditioning

Air conditioners help keep the inside of a structure comfortable. The thermostat can be set to a specific temperature, which turns on the air conditioning when it gets too warm inside a room. HVAC technicians may even utilize zoning to keep rooms in different parts of the house at different temperatures.

Refrigeration

An HVACR technician’s refrigeration duties include both residential and commercial applications. They may work on a walk-in cooler, chilled warehouse, or refrigeration unit in a single-family dwelling.
