One feature that makes the Network Engineer program at Cybertex Institute of Technology so convenient for students are the in-house testing facilities we provide. Rather than have our students drive all over Austin to pass certification tests in the areas we teach, we have testing available right on campus.

The procedure’s simple. Once a student completes coursework in an area of study—let’s say, for example, A+—he or she requests to do a certification test in A+ with our testing center via email. The testing center then does the rest, and within two weeks of putting in that request, the student is taking the test and getting their certification.

And students can schedule a test as a natural extension of their school day. For example, a student can go to class from 9 am to 1 pm, and by 1:15 pm that same day, be taking a test that will allow that student to prove certification in an area he or she has just finished studying.

While some students seek to do testing as soon as possible, a lot of our students opt to take a test in a particular area 4 to 6 weeks after course completion. That’s still within a window allowing students to take the test while the material is still relatively fresh.

As I mentioned in an earlier blog article, we move at an accelerated pace, allowing our students to complete an entire Network Engineering curriculum in just 45 weeks. Moving at that pace allows our students to get the knowledge they need in order to pursue an IT career, and having an in-house testing center helps our students get the certifications that prove to employers that they’ve gathered that knowledge.
